Liya Shay

Liya Shay was born in Kazan. At the age of thirteen, she moved to Somerset, England to attend a boarding school. Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Visual Cultures at prestigious Goldsmiths College, University of London, home to unique talents such as the director Steve McQueen, designer Viviene Westwood and contemporary artist Damien Hurst. In 2014 Liya was invited to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and pursue her love for theatre, which she developed since her early years studying Drama at King's School Bruton and Bromsgrove school.

 

Liya Shay speaks four languages and prides herself for utilizing many accents and dialects in her acting career. In her toolbox, you may find an American accent (Standard, Southern, New York), British (RP, Northern, Cockney), French, Irish and Russian. 

 

Despite getting her elbow injury in 2015 during the performance of a play in Los Angeles, two difficult surgeries and metal implants, Liya continues to train in Ballroom and Latin dances on a competitive level, in which she trained since the age of six and contemporary dance which she picked up recently as a hobby. 

 

In 2017 Liya Shay founded a production company Mama Tigre Productions, which focuses on the development and production of independent feature films and webseries. Liya Shay wrote, produced and acted in a TV pilot "Drug," which is currently in post-production and will enter festival circuit in Autumn 2019. Mama Tigre Productions is currently in pre-production for a feature film "Who's Your Daddy?" written by Thomas Shea Freeman.

 

Liya Shay is also a model, repped by BBA Models, Instagram influencer, a founding member of Allbright, a network and community celebrating and connecting smart-thinking women across the globe. An entrepreneur, founder of the first Keto friendly line of Kombucha "Dreamk Kombucha."
